Neuromuscular Dentistry

Neuromuscular Dentistry focuses on correcting misalignment of the jaw at the temporomandibular joint (TMJ).  This method of dentistry uses computerized instrumentation to measure the patient's jaw movements through jaw tracking instruments and jaw motion analysis.  After combining both the computerized jaw motion analysis with ultra frequency TENS, or muscle stimulations, the dentist is able to locate a "physiological rest" position as a starting reference point to find a relationship between the upper and lower jaw.  Once this position is found, the dentist can determine the optimal position of jaw alignment, enabling him to create a treatment plan to realign the patients jaw.

Symptoms of TMD, (Temporomandibular Joint Disorder), include headaches, back, neck and shoulder pain, dizziness, jaw pain, ringing in the ears, clenching of the jaw, swelling on the side of the face, and /or a bite that feels uncomfortable or "off."  If you are experienceing any of these symptoms, contact  Dr. Gregory Lane's office for a consultation.
